March Madness

And I'm not talking about basketball either.  I'm speaking of our lives around the Hewett household.  Our March has been jam packed and it's looking like April is in close second.

1.  Hughes has started baseball.  Yay!  However, I was a bad aunt and forgot my camera for his first game, but I promise pics in the near future.

2.  I started a maternity leave on March 12 in First Grade at Rehobeth Elementary and absolutely LOVE it!!  I don't love leaving Hampton everyday after being with him at home for 9 months, but we've both adjusted well.  Plus, he is in very good hands with one of my sweet friends' aunt, Mrs. Cathy.  She adores him and he adores her.  SO thankful for her and him not having to go to day care right now.  :)

3.  An answered prayer (or shall I say MANY prayers!)...Daniel officially got a new job with Amerigas on March 16.  Tomorrow is his last day of his 2 week notice at LifeSouth.  We will definitely miss the people he has worked with there, but know God had His hands all over this new and great opportunity for him.  I am thrilled for him and this new adventure for our family.  I can't wait to see what all God has in store for our future.

His sweet employees threw him a surprise going away party...
and boy, was a it a surprise! :)

The awesome cake one of his very own employees made...13 hours!
Giving his thank you speech :)

4.  On March 17 we said good-bye to our beloved Black Maxima and welcomed (with open arms) a 2012 white Armada.  I was SO sick of looking at SUV's, test driving SUV's, and negotiating SUV's that I was soooo happy when we arrived at the decision of the Armada.  Thank you, Mitchell Nissan, we LOVE it!!!

5.  This past weekend we headed to GA for Daniel's grandmother's 82nd birthday.  It was at his Aunt Teresa's out at their beautiful farm.  We got some awesome pictures, but I will spare you with just a few that I captured from this memorable weekend.

My love!!

Yep.  I shot this. :)

We had a little shooting practice

Mamaw with her 2 great grandsons...Happy 82nd birthday!

Mason, Hampton's 3rd cousin

My 2 sweet boys :)

A good time was had by all.

Tomorrow starts Spring Break and I couldn't be more excited!  To welcome Spring Break, I leave for Brooke's bachelorette weekend at the beach at 3:00 and I can't wait!!  It is going to be a super, duper fun weekend with some great friends.  Pictures from that will follow in the upcoming week...

After that, bring on April.  I'm. ready.  :)

9 month check up

Hampton had his 9 month check up this past Thursday with Dr. Williams.  He continues to grow and is a perfect baby boy!  Music to a mommy's ears.  :)  This was the best check up yet for both mommy and Hampton.  Why??  Because we had NO shots which = NO tears.  Yay!!

Waiting for Dr. Williams

His 9 months stats were:

weight:  19 lbs. 1/2 oz.
height:  28 3/4 inches long
head:  47 cm

Our next appointment is his 1 year old check up.  Eeeek!!!  Let the party planning begin (ok, maybe it's already began...just a little!) ;)

9 months old

This last Friday, March 2, marked 9 months since Hampton was born.  Wow.  Just doesn't seem real.  Buuuut, it is and we are loving every minute of our preciousness.  His 9 month check up is not until this Friday so that will have to be a post all on its own.  In the meantime, we'll talk about how fast our baby boy is growing and learning!

As of now...

he has ALWAYS loved playing and hanging out with his 2 older cousins, but especially when he gets to...

at the PARK!!
 he still LOVES swinging!
he enjoys playing with all his toys, of course, and this gum ball machine is one of his favorites
he has found the "tupperware" cabinet :) which is fine with me.  It's nothing but plastics in there and it definitely keeps him "busy" when I'm in the kitchen doing things

he says "da-da" like every 10.2 seconds.  He wakes up calling for him, when I am talking on the phone to someone he calls for him, when I am telling him "no, no" he calls for him, when I am changing his diaper he calls for him...ok, you get the drift.  Isn't it funny how I am with him literally 24/7, but yet "da-da" is his first words??  Amazing.  ;)  We think he's trying to say "ma-ma", but you can't really tell and he's also saying something to the effects of "nana".  NO idea where that came from unless he's seriously trying to call me "Anna"?  "Sorry son, but you will NOT refer to me as Anna.  Just not gonna let that happen."  He's also been trying to say "bye-bye"...we THINK.  That ones not too clear either.  And other than the other "ooohs, ahhh, and blahhhs" that's about all the language he's speaking.  These next few months should be interesting in that department.

he loves to "show out", but then again, what kid doesn't right?!

he LOVES playing in our closet...pulling on the clothes...crawling under the clothes...falling in the clothes (yes, that are hanging).  Hysterical is an understatement.  Don't worry, we made sure to get video and pictures of this the other day.  Can't wait for him to watch that in 10 or so years. ;)

There he goes...
 there he comes...
he loves to play peek-a-boo...where's Hampton?!?  ha!

he likes TRYING to feed himself  :)  Clearly, we don't have that mastered just yet.

Every day is a fun filled day with this adorable child.  He has THE sweetest little personality.  So loving. shy, reserved, and so happy.  He brightens our world a little more with each day that passes and I am more than thankful he is in our lives.

Mommy and Daddy love you so much, sweet boy!

Hampton's Dedication to our Lord

February 19, 2012...an extremely special and most memorable day to say the least.  The day our sweet angel, Hampton, was dedicated to our Heavenly Father, who has graciously entrusted him to Daniel and I while here on Earth.  We are forever grateful for this honor and it was the least we could do to promise to our God that we will raise him up to the best of our ability in a Christ centered home.  It is our prayer to enstill in all of our children the love and hope of Jesus Christ and for them to grow to know Him, love Him, and honor Him in everything they do.  Even though it was a cool and dreary day, it was also a beautiful day.  I could not have asked for a more perfect day with our family and church family.

Annointing him with oil

"This...is a child of God."  :)

Dr. Hays McKay dedicated him

After the service, we all went to eat at Olive Garden and continued the celebration at our house afterwards for dessert.

And of course their was lots of time to play with the cousins :)

We love you, sweet boy!!

And a big thank you to our families for helping make this day as special as it was.  It wouldn't have been complete without you!!  We love you!!

Wedding season is upon us!

Well, we're slowly, but surely inching up on spring and summer time (even though we never really had a winter, which I'm NOT complaining about) which also means wedding season!!  Yay!  I love weddings!  We have 4 weddings coming up in the next few months.  We actually have one in March, April, June, and July.  Whoa.  It's crazy, but I'm excited for each and every one of them.  Getting married to your best friend is the most wonderful blessing God could give someone.  So, with weddings, along come other events such as wedding showers, engagement parties, and bachelorette weekends!  While Hampton spent the night with Mimi and Papa, we attended a FUN engagement party last night for Brooke Whiddon and Andrew Preston.  My wedding was April 24, 2010 and Brooke's is April 14, 2012.  Brooke was a bridesmaid in my wedding and I am honored to stand alongside of her as a bridesmaid in hers now.  So exciting!  Their engagement party was at Mr. and Mrs. Bill Blount's house and a good time was had by all!  It is so fun getting to hang out with friends you don't get to see often for such a fun occasion.  Lots of laughs and smiles were shared all through the night.  It was sad to even see the night end.  Now, I am looking forward to the Bachelorette weekend at the end of March!  I can not wait!  Honestly, it was one of those nights I was having so much fun, I didn't take as many pictures as I would've liked to.  However, I will leave you with just a few shots that I actually DID make happen. :)

3 of her 10 bridesmaids!! :)

Me and my prince charming :)

Me and the sweet bride to be! :)

Good times with good friends

Miss this sweet girl so much, but it was SO fun seeing her again!

This was at my reception, April 2010! :)

8 months old

Time is a flyin'.  Baby boy turned 8 months old today!  He is THE light of our lives in every way possible.  I thank our Heavenly Father above numerous times daily for our little fella.  He is still growing like a weed and hadn't slowed down a bit.  Taking in everything around him and learning new things every single day.  I LOVE it!!  He is the happiest and best baby any parents could EVER ask for.  Seriously.  He's amazing.

As of now...

he is...drumroll please...

CRAWLING!!!

And in to EVERY.THING.

he is pulling himself up on the coffee table (and likes to bite the edges on his way up!)

he has his 2 top teeth coming in (those haven't been fun and I hear molar's are even worse!)  Looking forward to that already
he is really beginning to try and talk.  He said "da-da" in a string of words the other night.  I told Daniel it didn't count. ;)
he loves to ride in the buggy at the store

he loves to swing (we figured that out in B'ham when we stayed with the Moore's)

and he finally loves *his* swing at home (and this beatiful spring 70 degree weather has been helping us out in that department.  We take every chance we can to go hang outdoors.

he loves pulling himself up to stand anywhere he can

he loves to ride on things (with help of course)
he loves to flirt with people and "talk" to them anywhere we go these days
he has recently figured out a new found love of climbing on the couch (check out those little toes down there people).  He pushes those little feet and toes sooo hard to get to those blinds.

He was quiet the little busy bee this past month learning all these new tricks.  We are so proud of him and become overwhelmed with joy with each day that passes.  He is so smart and picks up on new things very quickly.  My heart overflows with love and happiness for this child.  I can't begin to imagine what this month has in store for us.  :)

Happy 8 months our sweet boy!!  Mommy and Daddy love you!!
